VOGUE KNITTING LIVE Minneapolis

I have spent the last 3 days in Minneapolis where Vogue Knitting Magazine held their latest show. Vogue magazine has always been my favorite Knitting magazine, because of their latest styles and interesting patterns.  I went to a lecture by the Editor in Chief and learned that she views all the latest fashion shows (whether they are knitwear or not) and chooses designs for the magazine that reflect these new trends. She gave an excellent slide show and I learned a lot about what to expect in the next year of knittted fashion.

I ran into a wonderful knitter who I had only met online and we felt like old friends. I was wearing a sweater I made from the cover of a recent magazine.

Besides the excellent yarn shopping opportunities my other favorite thing at VKL is the "Readers' Runway Show". There are many other fashion shows with professional models put on by yarn companies but in the "Readers'" show amateur knitters have a chance to model items they have made from the pages of Vogue Knitting Magazine.

I was chosen along with 25 others to be in this show and it was definitely the high point of the weekend! We all met early backstage and learned some modeling tips. It was so much fun meeting other knitters and seeing each other's projects.  Here are some pictures of the models in their outfits, startinwith me in my bright fuchsia beaded tunic and also some interesting knitted items I saw at the show.     AND I  am already working on my next sweater to apply to the READER's RUNWAY SHOW which will be held at VOGUE KNITTING LIVE in New York in Jan so stay tuned!
